Posted by Emma Baker

Afriquoi are a five-piece band based in London, with members ranging in age across three decades, originating from Africa, the Caribbean and the UK. Bringing together a vast depth of musical knowledge, culture and life experience, Afriquoi fuses the best of world music.

Their energetic live show combines traditional Gambian kora, Congolese guitar and Mandinka percussion styles with contemporary electronic music. Drawing on house, soca, hip hop, soul and jungle, their sound is entirely unique and uplifting.

Afriquoi will bring their inimitable blend of live African dance music to an all night party at Patterns, supported by Tuckshop residents and Baloo.

Listen to their tremendous debut album Kolaba for a taste of what’s to come.
