Austerity Records presents Seaview Festival

Frankly one must ask whether a preview is really required? If ever there was a ‘no brainer’, this must be it! Essentially there will be a bar, there will grass to sit on, there will be a beach-side sea view, there will be the art deco backdrop of the De La Warr Pavilion and there will be a jam packed line-up headed by Warmduscher. They are one of the wildest and most fun rock’n’roll bands this writer has ever seen and have just released new single ‘Love Strong’ on Bella Union.

That’s not enough? Really? Okay. Well how about the fact they’ve just announced the author of one of the greatest rhyming couplets in the history of modern pop as the second headliner? Yes, BC Camplight, the man who wrote; “This afternoon I thought about Buckfast and space and danced around my kitchen singing Ace Of Base,” will be playing songs from his new album ‘The Last Rotation Of Earth’.

More? You need more? Well there’s some komische psychedelia from St Leonards local and indie titan super group, Aircooled; jangly pop from ‘Pale Blue Eyes’; uplifting electro-pop from Office For Personal Development and last but by no means least, some punchy punk from the soon-to-be huge force of nature that is Brighton’s very own SNAYX.

Austerity Records, the label behind some beautiful hand-lathed limited vinyl editions (including the very sold-out debut hyper pink double EP ‘Weaponized Youth’ by the aforementioned SNAYX), are the people behind this party. One can only hope it is the start of an annual institution.

Early bird tickets have already sold out, so do not hang about. Meanwhile stay tuned as there is still more to announce.
