Brighton has a new Homegrown festival highlighting our local scene

In recent years it has been SOURCE’s view that some of the most exciting moments at big events like Mutations and The Great Escape have actually been the local bands. There is an incredible array of talent walking these streets and honing their craft in what must be the best live music scene for a town with a population of 276,300 in the country.

From an original idea put about by members of the Hope & Ruin team, The Folklore Rooms, Green Door Store, Pipeline, Prince Albert, and the Rossi Bar all quickly got on board, to launch a one-day festival to focus on this vibrant young scene.

The first wave of acts have now been announced. The first headliners to be announced is The Wythces who have just released new single ‘Unsure’ on the increasingly reliable Alcopop Records.

They are joined by several young bands who have really caught our attention at recent shows: Canned Pineapple, Currls, Ellis-D, Flip Top Head, Ladylike and Van Zon. More bands are due to be announced, and surprise guests are promised.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for stupendously cheap price of £10. They will not hang around.
