Brighton Racecourse plays host to a weekend of chart-topping hitmakers in early September.

It’s 80s night on Friday 8th with synth pop legends The Human League bringing a shed load of hits that are still wowing crowds almost 40 years since their classic Reproduction, Travelogue and Dare albums were released. Fellow 80s superstar Marc Almond continues to explore new avenues with his music while remaining rightly proud of his incredible body of work. His recent releases have ranged from this year’s 60s flavoured A Kind Of Love to the Tony Visconti produced 2014s glam rock extravaganza The Dancing Marquis and a collaboration with saxophonist John Harle. The evening begins with The South, featuring Beautiful South original Alison Wheeler.

Saturday night is one for the club kids beginning with Stereo MCs, now in their third decade of performing. Groove Armada follow promising a pioneering live show and a shed load of dance hits. Closing the weekend is Hacienda Classical, returning to Brighton after last year’s Dome show. This sees Hacienda DJs Mike Pickering and Graeme Park playing alongside a full live orchestra with special guests to perform new orchestral versions of the classic house tracks that were the soundtrack of the legendary club.
