Captain Announce Rare Live Date

Back in the mid-noughties Captain were signed to EMI records and released ‘This Is Hazelville’, produced by Trevor Horn, which climbed up the album chart at a time when that still meant something. They were then beset with some rotten luck due to label restructuring and lost albums, before the tragic loss of their lead guitarist Mario.

Thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign last year, the band are now back working together with a new album recorded. Lead single ‘High Beams’ is a jaunty slice of easygoing melodic indie pop. It fits perfectly into a back catalogue that has seen them compared to bands like the Psychedelic Furs and The Cure as well as The Beautiful South and Deacon Blue.

Following sold out shows in London and Cambridge, the band now have a summer solstice Brighton date announced at the Hope & Ruin on the 21st of June. This should provide a perfect opportunity to dance away on the longest day!

Hope & Ruin, Friday 21st June2024
