The Trocks – all male dancers, clad thick in make-up, hips wrapped in tutus, eyelashes fluttering and glimmering – have a new show: Les Sylphides, Pas De Deux, La Vivandière and Walpurgis Night. Promising news for those sensing their knowing snook on the genre was wearing slightly thin in recent years, although it could be said that they solicited such accusations by dint of being brilliant, harrumphing the stuffy trepidation some feel towards ballet in favour of high comedy and gleeful dance.
