Club Review: Vice Issue Launch

Vice Issue Launch in Brighton SOURCE at www.brightonsource.co.uk Brighton’s best listings, music and culture magazine

A free magazine doesn’t get a circulation of over 1.5 million across nearly 30 countries by just sitting around and watching Battlestar Galactica all day. From their humble beginnings as the Voice of Montreal to becoming the youth style bible, Vice mag has worked its tits off over the last 15 years and the launch parties have become a key ingredient in turning discerning readers into loyal fans.

And the loyal fans tonight are an eclectic rabble of pretty young things and weathered musos, tottering on a carpet of strewn mags as Spector take to the stage. The 80s-tinged indie rock’n’roll of their debut single ‘Never Fade Away’ rouses us with the swelling drums and a magnanimous bass so that when IROK get up, their frontman Mike Title really doesn’t need to try so hard.
