The Alchemist
Brightonians drink so much coffee it’s a wonder we ever sleep. But those with street smarts avoid the mall merchants and head for our more esoteric bean purveyors, and this ranks as a rare find. The Alchemist espresso bar has opened next to The Mesmerist on Prince Albert Street, selling food from the pub and coffee from the acclaimed Small Batch Coffee Company. Add to that the lovely old Victorian ambience inside and you’re getting more star caffeine for your bucks.
