Last month several hundred people gathered to ‘reclaim the night’ – part of a worldwide protest to mark the UN day to End Violence Against Women. The SOURCE was there taking pictures in solidarity.
An early start with around one hundred people turning up to show their support by around 5:45pm, which escalated to somewhere between 400-500 people half an hour later.
Marching down Queen’s Road, onwards to the seafront, then upwards to St Mary’s Church, the crowd was riddled with custom signs.
It’s rare when an event in Brighton goes by without a fancy moustache being involved in some way.
A drunken man decides it’s the perfect time to provoke protesters with some sexist verbal abuse.
Across the seafront the protesters were met with many onlookers and somewhat annoyed night cyclists.
A mother photographs her two children in front of the protest.
Shopkeepers stand outside to catch a glimpse of the march, probably making sure nobody harms their store front.
A gang looks on as the march passes by St James’ Street.
Two men dance naked out of their hotel window, of course.
Nearly there! Marchers reach the end of the walk on St James’ Street just outside St Mary’s Church.
