An exciting new night, Vanishing Point, launches at Patterns this month with the stellar line-up of Optimo back to back with Ivan Smagghe for 5 hours. A Sunday night institution at Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club for 13 years, Optimo was instrumental to the city’s vibrant underground music scene. The eclectic tastes of Optimo’s JD Twitch and JG Wilkes influenced a host of local and international artists and DJs including Jackmaster, Hot Chip, Auntie Flo, Hudson Mohawk and Drums of Death. Incredibly, this will be Optimo’s first appearance in Brighton for over ten years.

Joining Optimo is Ivan Smagghe, who similarly has a gift of fusing obscure and revered tracks that span genres. The Parisian’s unique production was first heard through early releases on Kitsune, followed by the hugely popular Black Strobe. More recently, his work under the It’s A Fine Line name has seen him remix Superpitcher, The xx, and Metronomy; as well as releasing via his own Les Disques de la Mort (LDDLM) label. With such acclaimed headliners gracing the decks together, this is one party not to be missed.
