Brighton’s LGBTQ communities and their friends gathered in their hundreds on Monday to pay tribute and stand in solidarity with the 49 people killed and 53 injured at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

A vigil was held at the Marlborough pub, organised by Traumfrau, and a procession was led through Kemptown to join another vigil at the Aids Memorial in New Steine. The gathering featured words from Councillor Warren Morgan, Mayor Pete West and performances from Brighton and Hove Gay Men’s Chorus and the Rainbow Chorus.

Brighton Council will be flying the LGBT Pride flag at half-mast this week as a mark of solidarity and remembrance.
