Street Style: Polly

You know a style’s officially timeless when it’s worn by someone who wasn’t born until decades after its original appearance – the 50s look sported by Polly here will never go out of fashion. It’s not difficult to assemble either – contemporary fashion houses faithfully reproduce much of the baby boomer couture that’s easy to offset with the odd original piece to give the overall look some genuine authenticity. Polly talks us through the look that never had it so good.

Headscarf from H&M
“It’s like a granny’s one – it’s really long so I can tie it in a bow.”

Jacket from vintage shop in Washington DC
“It’s just a classic rock’n’roll leather; I’ve had it about four years.”

Shirt from Dirty Harry
“It goes with the 50s look. It’s really big so I can tie it into a bow. I love bows!”

Shorts from Primark
“I love these, they’re very 50s-style.The tights are from Primark too.”

Shoes
“Not sure where these came from but they’re wedge shoes with a heel.”

Socks from Primark
“I love them, I wear them every day. They make your ankles look thin and they go with everything. It’s a real pin-up look.”

Bag from Snoopers Paradise
“It’s a Kelly bag from the 40s or 50s, a classic design. I only got this a couple of months ago.”
