POLPO and Refuge: A Charitable Banquet

If you’re missing International Women’s Day, we’ve got something for you: POLPO’s teamed up with Refuge to stretch it out all month. Il Mese Della Donna (the month of woman, of course) comes to Brighton tomorrow with a Venetian feast at the restaurant on New Road, before moving to the Soho, London restaurants for events later in the month. We went to the restaurant when they opened a few years ago, and found their small plates to be big on flavour.

The Brighton night of Il Mese Della Donna will feature a set menu of Venetian small plate favourites including fritto misto, spicy pork and fennel meatballs, stuffed fried olives, prosciutto & Gorgonzola pizzette, mushroom & truffle arancini and affogato al caffé, and a glass of prosecco on arrival, for £35 per person.

On the Brighton night, Kimberley Thomas, Corporate Partnerships Senior Manager of Refuge will be giving a talk about how the charity has progressed and why its survival is so important. The charity Refuge works to support women and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence and was recently in the news campaigning for sustainable funding.

Half of the proceeds from tickets to the Il Mese Della Donna events will go directly to Refuge, and you can book in online here or by calling the Brighton restaurant on 01273 697361.
