Street Source is a regular feature showcasing photos taken in Brighton. The idea is to share spontaneous moments around town – be it incidental street scenes, snapshots of people’s lives or images of the city as a landscape. Each month we ask a different photographer to participate. This time, Jon Southcoasting took a stroll along the coast to the tiny neighbouring hillside village of Telscombe and documented the walk.
The route began on the paths at the top of Kemp Town behind the hospital towards the Whitehawk allotments.
After Whitehawk, we crossed the golf course at Roedean school and joined the coast road passing the Blind Veterans’ hospital.
Down the cliffs and along the coastal path we found respite in the cafe at Saltdean.
After the Grand Ocean hotel (now apartments) at the top of Saltdean we hit the countryside, crossing the fields from where you can get a clear view of the Racecourse up high on Race Hill back in Brighton.
Finally we made it past the horses to arrive at our destination.
And then we had to go back home.
