Frames In The Lanes

“We’re tried to break with the tradition of the sterile opticians and create a boutique environment that people can really relax in,” say Bernadette and Freya of excellent new glasses emporium Frames In The Lanes. With loads of unique specs hunted out at trade fairs in Milan and Paris, the pair have already stamped their taste on the faces of cool Brighton. Not literally though. If a pair or Jimmy Crystals encrusted with Swarovski, a vintage line from Dead Men’s Spex or frames from Diesel, Brighton’s own Booth & Bruce aren’t enough to get you in, there’s another reason until Friday 7th – there a competition with loads of great prizes and a quid to Pride where all you have to do it have photo taken in your fave frames in the shop.

Jono Hennessy £155 (the rainbow sunglasses)

“They’ve got inlayed fabrics so they’re quite unusual.”

Epos £109 (tortoise sunnglasses)

“A classic Italian company – like a one man band that have been making the same type of frame in the same way for centuries.”

FUNK £389 (inc. lenses)

“German company by Dieter Funk, the DJ. He’s got some really unusual styles that have a huge following in Europe.”

Chrome Hearts £799 (inc. lenses) (the ones with white leather from side)

“Only available in here and in Selfridges in London. All of the settings are sterling silver and they have Carl Zeiss lenses.”
