Weird Folk fans are in for a treat with this Autumnal show from Brighton’s stunning Sairie, a three-piece comprised of Emma Morton, Jon Griffin and Andy Thomas who have been impressing many further afield with their occasional series of singles and some beguiling live performances over recent years.
Now the band are releasing their debut full-length album, titled ‘Beneath The Spreading tree’, continuing their exploration of early 70’s folk influences, blending otherworldly atmospherics with stripped-back arrangements. Listen to ‘Harder than it Seemed’, the first single from Sairie’s album, below.
The album-release show should be a bit special, taking place in the beautiful environment of the Church of the Annunciation, up the hill in Hanover.
Support comes from the brilliant singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Eliza Skelton (possibly known to fans of Oddfellow’s Casino, check out her excellent album ‘The Lookerer’) and kicks off with the American Primitive finger-picking majesty of Linden Pomeroy. Get there early, this will be one to remember.
Sairie, with Eliza Skelton and Linden Pomeroy, play the Church of the Anunciation on 11th September.
