Big Long Sun Launch Album No 2!

At one point, it was easier to list which Brighton bands Jamie Broughton was not in, than those which he was. He has now fully stepped out of the shadows and into the limelight as the avant pop auteur behind some absolutely cracking songs. Take new single ‘Fast Like I Like My Money’, which errupts from the speakers like a Snapped Ankles remix of Revolver-era Beatles.

This is the first single from new album ‘whatever (whatever)’ that will be released next month on Miomhi Records.

While Big Long Sun is still creatively a solo project, the live band format is going from strength to strength. The musicians Jamie has assembled to realise his vision are clearly close friends, and the relaxed communion of friendship bleeds into the music and good humour of the live performance. Consequently they are turning heads, and getting some traction with 6Music and festival bookers alike.

The second single from the album, ‘A Casual Dance Between Friends’ takes a mutant funk bass line ESG would be proud of and splices it with eerie vocals, slamming recorders and some Beck sass.

The new album comes with a national tour, which includes a launch show on 24th July in the glorious surroundings of Alphabet. Fun will be had.
