Brighton Gets A Brand New Festival

Squeezing one more big date onto Brighton’s busy calendar, Party At The Races is a new one-day festival that looks set to see the summer out in style. Basement Jaxx, Youngr and Felon have all been announced for the main stage up at Brighton Racecourse, but plenty more names are due to roll in over the coming weeks.

Alongside the big-name dance acts, Brighton Source is proud to be hosting a ‘Best of Brighton’ local music stage. Again, the line-up is yet to be fully fleshed out, but we can confirm local favourites Of Empires and The Modern Strangers are currently filling the headline slots. Also on the bill are Kudu Blue, who have been cropping up these pages more and more this year (as we said earlier this month, they’re definitely on our “ones to watch” list for 2016.) And let’s not forget Mantras, a band that played their first Brighton show just over a year ago. Suffice to say, our reviewer at that gig was suitably impressed.

The festival also promises ‘virtual horse racing’, a vintage funfair and what sounds like a fancy dress free-for-all. We’ll have more details soon, but for now just block out the date. Better still, grab a ticket through the Brighton Source ticket page.

This one-person, one-act play is giddy, funny and seriously entertaining. An odyssey through the madness of corporate pressure on our mental health.
