Dexys, Tues 19th September

With their highly anticipated new album ‘The Feminine Divine’ released on 28th July, Dexys have announced a September 2023 UK and Ireland tour, with a show at Brighton Dome on Tuesday 19th September. The Feminine Divine Live! will see Dexys perform the new album from start to finish, followed by a selection of classics and hits (including plenty from ‘Too Rye Ay’). This should more than make up for the shows that were sadly cancelled last year.

For the fifth album, Kevin Rowland has produced a personal, if not strictly autobiographical, record portraying a man whose views on women and masculinity have evolved over time. Judging by the punchy first single, he’s lost none of his soul boy swagger or ear for what constitutes a great song.

If the shows are anything like the 2012 tour (which we reviewed here), fans can expect theatrical extravagance with a narrative and some of the best pop songs that lit up the 1980s and grew into stone-cold classics.

Tickets are on sale online from Friday 14th April here or from the Dome box office

A fresh and hilariously funny one man cabaret show about the absurdity of death, living a finite existence and embracing life in all its imperfections.
