Interactive Art Event, ‘Draw To Perform 4’

A two day event at Brighton’s Fabrica Gallery challenges the stereotypical notion of drawing as a solitary, static and private form of artistic expression. At ‘Draw to Perform 4’, artists turn mark-making into a vibrant, interactive spectacle, emphasising the ways in which drawing can be the dynamic record of a movement, intensely physical in nature.

This event, billed as an ‘International Symposium for Drawing Performance’, has been held three times in London and brings together thirteen artists from across four continents. ‘This is the first time we’ve performed in Brighton’ enthuses founder Ram Samocha, ‘and we’re so excited to follow the tradition for artistic freedom that the city is famous for.’

Day one features ten performances, including a collaboration between Ram Samocha and composer Paul Hartnoll, best known for his work with Orbital. Day two consists of five individually ticketed interactive workshops – including artist Jan Rae’s playful, fun exploration of mark-making through tango dancing.

Day One – Pass to all performances: £15 (earlybird) / £20 (on the door). Children under 12 go free.
Day Two – Workshops £10 / £5 (children) / £25 (families)

‘Draw to Perform 4’, Fabrica, Sat 4th and Sun 5th March 2017, 11am-5pm
