Metz, Fri 6th Dec

As the last part of the year approaches the post-festival touring hits a high point with Metz returning to Brighton. Their last full album was the Steve Albini-produced ‘Strange Peace’ in 2017. Judging by recent shows you should expect some unreleased songs and a solid mix of their back catalogue.

The Canadian trio have a unique way of merging scuzzy punk with discordant angular guitar and rhythms that are closer to math rock. Totally captivating in a live setting they even managed to upstage Mudhoney when they supported them at the Concorde 2 in 2013. They are mighty loud, sweaty and energetic – not one to miss.
