New England House Open Studios, 8th-10th Dec

The unprepossessing 1960s office block exterior of New England House conceals a wealth of independent studio spaces whose wares criss-cross the globe – from award-winning book illustrators and fashion designers, to influential artists and craftspeople.

This three day open studio event offers visitors a rare chance to wander the building, chat with the artists and pick up a pre-Christmas bargain to boot. Be sure to visit Level 6 for kids’ clothing designers Bob & Blossom, stationers Sukie and wallpaper designers Dupenny.

Head down to Level 5, meanwhile, for stunning works by ceramicist Rowena Gilbert, pop-culture inspired screenprints by Sam Williams (pictured) and embroidered art by Shelley Morrow. Christmas shopping just got easier.
