Ninja Tune Vs Tru Thoughts, Sat 15th Sept

Sep 13, 2012

Posted by Stuart Huggett

Two fine British labels go head to head at tonight’s Concorde show. SOURCE were raving about Tru Thoughts’ supergroup Sleepin Giantz album last month, and all three of those bass heavyweights, Zed Bias, Rodney P and Fallacy are in attendance this evening. Representing the Ninja Tune empire are Jake Wherry from hip hop specialists The Herbaliser, and Brighton’s own drum’n’bass scientists The Qemists. In keeping with Ninja Tune’s groundbreaking AV adventures, ‘infinity helmets’, ‘gameboy suits’ and ‘sound corridors’ are promised.

Stuart Huggett grew up in Hastings, writing fanzines and blogs about the town’s underground music scene. He has been a regular contributor to SOURCE, NME, The Quietus and Bowlegs. His huge archive of magazines, flyers and vinyl is either an invaluable research tool or a bloody pain. He occasionally runs tinpot record label Dizzy Tiger, DJs sporadically and plays live even less.
