Ryan Hemsworth, Thurs 7th Feb

Everyone’s second favourite Canadian called Ryan, remix superhero and SoundCloud sage Hemsworth has featured on most ‘Ones To Watch’ lists we’ve seen in the past six months. He’s had no problems living up to the hype though, and in a time when the electronic music scene is swamped with glitchy, space-y samples he’s boldly leading where no man has gone before. We’re also looking forward to seeing Ninja Tune’s Slugabed and the Donky Pitch boys back at the Jazz Place, where their parties started.

Second Opinion
A more party time James Blake with rhymes? Paced out vibes from Hemsworth invite romantic escapades from the cool crowd. Beautiful incorporation of the ‘Kitsch’ familiar that only a partly out-cast in-looker could muster. Currently bemused by his adoption by such brands as Nike at just 22 years, super ahead of the crowd be one of the pseudo – school hyperbates & get down to the newest of the new ethereal party sounds. Warm up care of the comparatively direct Slugabed. (Andy Halliday)
