Charlie Harper’s ever-reliable punk stalwarts never got the acclaim of some of their less-deserving contemporaries but they’ve always remained true to the spirit of ’76. The Subs’ back catalogue of socially-aware, three chord classic songs is perfect for a moshpit of sweaty, shirtless blokes looking for middle-age kicks. With constant touring and a stable line-up, they continue to be a tight unit and Harper, still pogoing at the ripe old age of 69, shows no sign of slowing
down.
