Club Review: Warehouse

Warehouse clubnight at Audio reviewed in Brighton SOURCE magazine, Brighton's best music, arts and listings magazine.

The summer (of love) is over. After several seasons of free electro and disco SOL is no more, but panic not. Warehouse has taken the idea and tweaked it a little bit. As long as you’re there before 1am – and really, why leave it so late to go clubbing – you can still get in free and get into the house, techno and electro groove. The fiver that late-comers have to stump up is ploughed into bigger guests like Boy 8 Bit, Filthy Dukes and Stopmakingme. The night we popped down Solo was rocking the place with bouncy electro house. Sam Watts of Schtumm is still resident, but elsewhere it’s mainly new names in the form of Pete and Kristian from the excellent Blah Blah Blah collective, alongside Brimmer and Battery Powered. The crowd certainly seem to like the change – Mex had a bevy of dancers upstairs but the bar areas and outside smoking terrace were quiet compared to the rammed, dark, enthusiastic dancefloor. And that’s what it’s all about.
