Below The Line Review

Not content with being just a club night, the Below The Line boys have a live-streamed TV show on Friday nights, and a blog highlighting the most exciting releases in future bass music. But that doesn’t mean any less attention is paid to the clubs; they’ve been putting on some of the best line-ups in town over the last few months and tonight’s certainly no exception.

Local Below The Line DJs Alors Cors, Murder He Wrote and Ferndown Mistake provide the warm-up soundtrack, and before long Life’s filled with anticipation, expensive hats and sloshing drinks.

Headliner Kahn is Bristol’s premier beat-maker, releasing superb single ‘Illy’ on Punch Drunk last year, and it’s bizarre he hasn’t been booked in Brighton before. His vinyl-only grime set goes down very well, as do supports from the up-and-coming Bwana and Ziro. This is a night that combines cutting-edge music with a crowd that’s there to have fun. It’s a brilliant combination.
