SOURCE caught up with Ed McRae, vocalist from Your Demise just before their highly anticipated show at The Haunt on Feb 7th. After many months of hibernation the band seem keen to get back to touring after the release of their new EP ‘Cold Chillin”.

Hi Ed, how are you doing today?
I’m fine thank you.

So it’s the first day of tour, are you excited?
Yeah, it’s been a bit of time since we were last on tour.

Your EP came out today as well, how are you feeling about that?
Yeah pretty cool, I think it’s been well received.

What’s your favourite thing about touring?
Getting to hang out with my friends.

Are you doing anything to celebrate tonight, apart from the show?
Dunno really, it’s my hometown. I don’t really go out.

And today you were filming a documentary, what can you tell us about that?
Apparently so, only found out about it today. It’s for our merch people Impericon, doing a documentary about the day in the life of us really.

Would you say this EP is a way to tide us over for an album soon?
Who knows? We’ll see.

Which album artwork do you wish was your own?
Erm, that’s a good question. I hate these questions because you really wanna give a good answer (after much deliberation) I am gonna say ‘The Chronic’ or ‘2001’ by Dr Dre.

Would you ever lip sync in front of the President?
Probably, wouldn’t wanna let him down really. If I was performing to the President he’d have my back no matter what.

Which band would you love to tour with?
Wu Tang Clan!

Have you ever learned anything really profound from another band whilst on tour?
I learned how to play dice, like gambling and stuff, that’s always stuck with me.

Who was that from?
Misery Signals.

Breaking Bad or Homeland?
I haven’t seen Homeland, but I’ve just nearly finished Breaking Bad. I’m on season five episode two, it’s mad! Such a good show! So I haven’t seen Homeland, but apparently it’s good so I might watch that.

Finally, if you could be someone for the day who would it be?
Ooh, someone for a day? Justin Bieber. Amazing. It would be wild. Imagine the stuff that you’d do. Ah, it would be so sick to be him. He’s the one.

‘Cold Chillin” is out now via Impericon & Pinky Swear Records. Check out our review of the live show here.
