Marvin Gaye’s seminal album, ‘What’s Going On’, was released 50 years ago this year and to celebrate this landmark anniversary, Nu Civilisation Orchestra will perform its own homage at Brighton Dome Concert Hall on Saturday 30th October.

Nu Civilisation Orchestra is a world-class ensemble brought together by Gary Crosby OBE, Artistic Director of the music development organisation and charity Tomorrow’s Warriors. The organisation celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with a vision to continue providing a free platform that brings through the next generation of UK jazz talent from diverse backgrounds, sustaining the scene from grassroots up and supporting pathways into professional careers.

A creative exploration of Gaye’s masterpiece, What’s Going On will be conducted by Musical Director Peter Edwards together with talented young musicians plus guest artists, acclaimed British soul singer Noel McKoy on lead vocals and Brighton’s own spoken word artist and activist AFLO. the poet. The performance will be enhanced with visual projections by Yeast Culture.

This is a great opportunity to catch the next generation of UK jazz talent and enjoy a new interpretation of one of the great soul albums.
