At their worst, ‘tribute nights’ are paunchy, balding, karaoke versions of your idols. This however is altogether different, and a bit special too. A “Winter Dance Party” recreating the spirit of early blue-eyed rock’n’roll, as personified by Buddy Holly, is the tribute in this case. Playing Holly’s songs – in tribute and in their own way – will be Thomas White (he of Electric Soft Parade, Brakes etc), Derek Meins (formerly the Agitator and The Famous Poet) plus Brighton’s own rock n’ rollers Holy Vessels and Hollerin’ Stollar and the Pine Box Boys.
