Deptford indie rockers Athlete pioneered a chart rush of radio-friendly and soulless lo-fi, but we can’t blame them for their imitators. 2003’s Mercury Music Prize nominated ‘Vehicles And Animals’ is one of those sneaky albums that you know all of the words to, but don’t know why. They’ve released loads since then but that debut remains the pinnacle of their career, which they’ll be performing in full in this pre-tour warm-up show.
