The first contact we had with Chase & Status was heading into an event at the Concorde while hundreds of wide-eyed sweaty students stumbled out muttering about “the best gig I’ve ever seen”. Since then they’ve conquered the world with their intense, noisy drum’n’bass anthems, so it’s impressive to see them back at the Concorde for this DJ set. They’re currently in the studio with Nile Rogers (ask your grandad, or Daft Punk) which is really odd. A new disco direction? The internet reckons the new LP will be darker, but the internet is a liar sometimes. We guess we’ll find out tonight. (JK)
