Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion, Sun 16th Sept

Sep 13, 2012

Posted by Steve Clements

Prior to becoming a 70s rock god, Ginger paid his dues on the vibrant London jazz scene before joining Graham Bond’s influential rhythm and blues Organisation, which also featured fellow Cream alumni Jack Bruce. Tonight he’s playing with James Brown’s sax blower Pee Wee Ellis, bassist Alec Dankworth and percussionist Abass Dodoo. He may be in his 70s and survived a rollercoaster lifestyle but he remains a powerful force. Expect a dynamic display of Monk influenced originals with an African flavour. (SC)
