Homegrown Festival First Wave Line Up Announcement

Team Homegrown have been busy behind the scenes pulling together the first wave of acts for this year’s festival.

Source is never going to be disappointed if a member of the Wolter family is in front of us on a stage and we are in luck as Lily will be bringing her My Precious Bunny project to the festival. They have just announced their debut album; ‘A Moment In My Eyes’, which will be released on Bella Union on May 22nd.

We have also always been attracted to the artistic vision of Max Kinghorn-Mills and his Hollow Hand project. The classic rock sound they excel in is showcased in the ‘Green Meadows of England’, a slice of summery pop which sounds not unlike Ray Davis fronting the Eagles, that was released last year on the ‘New Commute Forever’ compilation. There is also a return for Daniel Wakeford whose opening set of wonky English pop at last year’s event was described as sensational by many, while the icy Gothic Shoegaze of Swallowtail was captivating at Lewes Psychedelic Festival and All Better are sure to bring a smile to the face of those looking for some Pop Punk.

The rest of the line up brings new treats. While we might dispute their claim to be a surf band, Chichester’s Dutch Criminal Body produce some interesting King Kruley indie, Winnipeg, NM play a beguiling slowcore while while Quaking Aspens have a heavier pedal driven sonic cathedral sound and we look forward to it melting our faces.

Early bird tickets flew out, so don’t sit on it. Homegrown will be a special event, because Brighton and the places we worship upon the alter of live music are special, and both this city and the wider Sussex surroundings have yielded some very special bands in recent years.

This year Alphabet, Daltons, The Folklore Rooms, Green Door Store, The Hope & Ruin, The Pipeline, The Prince Albert, Revenge and the Rossi Bar are all involved so there are pletny more acts to be announced.
