Passenger, Hove Park 6th September

Local boy Passenger (aka Mike Rosenberg, aka the ‘Let Her Go’ maestro) has announced a homecoming gig in Hove Park for Sunday 6th September.

This writer last saw Passenger play in the Concorde over a decade ago at a stunning sold-out gig, which came some years after we’d already spotted his star shining as a busker in New Road. His massive international hit ‘Let Her Go’ has reportedly topped the charts in 19 countries and has had over 4 billion views on YouTube, resulting in an Ivor Novello award for its performer.

Over the last few years, Mike Rosenberg has been busy touring the world playing to massive audiences and releasing album after album of great songs. His latest album ‘One For The Road’ came out last Autumn, and features songs from his musical ‘The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry’, which had a run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket earlier this year and was an Olivier Musical Award nominee. The album is another beautiful collection, continuing Rosenberg’s typically warm and intensely human approach to songwriting.

There is a superb supporting line up at Hove Park, featuring the wonderful Watford indie folk sister duo The Staves, highlighting their latest album ‘All Now’, another exemplary display of their beautiful songwriting and harmonies. Alongside the Staves, there will be the outstanding British folk guitarist John Smith who has performed on stage with the likes of Joan Baez and Jackson Browne, along with the rising alt-country artist Ber and local Worthing singer-songwriter Chris Simmons who recently became the first unsigned artist to achieve a UK Christmas Top 10 hit!

The Hove Park concert will be a rare opportunity to see Passenger perform locally, in his home town, in a beautiful outdoor setting. It will be a great day to remember.

Tickets for Passenge at Hove Park are available from local promoters Joy here
