Sean Nicholas Savage, Fri 29th June

Posted by The Recommender

This Canadian solo artist is something of a music machine, with at least six albums in the last couple of years. His mellow pieces of dorky pop have been compared to everyone from Twin Shadow to Cat Stevens, with a clever mixture of crooning grooves and whistle-it simplicity. It has the kind of originality that’s becoming synonymous with his record label, Arbutus Records, perhaps best known for recent hype sensation Grimes, but where she’s reaching to the future, Sean is embracing an appealing retro past.
