They’ve been keeping a fairly low profile since surfacing late last year, but Trans unite two cult figures of 90s indie. To the left, former Suede guitar genius turned solo artist turned super-producer Bernard Butler, and to the right, the even-more-of-a-cult Jackie McKeown, once frontman of Glaswegian provocateurs The Yummy Fur and, more recently, The 1990s. As Trans, they’re trading fluid guitar soloing with dry lyrics across a series of colour-coded EPs for Rough Trade, and will be bathed in a rainbow tonight by the Innerstrings Psychedelic Lightshow.
