Club Review: Hat Club

Oct 1, 2010

Posted by James Kendall

The Hat Club reviewed in Brighton SOURCE magazine, Brighton's best music, arts, club and listings magazine.

It was a real shame when Hat Club disappeared a few years ago, but after a jaunt around the globe (including Ibiza and Bahrain) they’re back in a new home, and one that suits them to a tee. Straight off the bat the crowds are flocking in, not least due to the straight-up, accessible upfront house from a large crew of resident DJs who know just what the dancefloor is looking for. The venue is dressed well – one of the best bits of decorating from a promoter at the moment – and with all the hats on heads you won’t forget what night you’re at. Unlike the old days people aren’t quite on the hat-wearing message yet, but every month more and more turn up suitably attired, and the team supply headgear for anyone not yet with the programme. A fine club night and a growing brand – you have to tip your hat to them.
