Love Supreme Fest has announced more artists appearing at next year’s event. Many were booked for last year’s cancelled event, including TLC, Candi Staton and Sister Sledge who will perform on Sunday afternoon. With Erykah Badu already on board as the Saturday headliner, the festival is putting forward a very strong female line up. For the jazz purists, Gary Bartz will be joined by London six-piece Maisha, Ezra Collective return to headline Friday night following a triumphant show in 2018, as does Matthew Halsall who appeared at the second festival in 2014, while the highly praised multi-instrumentalist Emma-Jean Thackray, percussionist Sarathy Korwar and Ethio-jazz legend Mulatu Astatke make their debuts.

Sister Sledge

The iconic Blue Note label is represented by British guitarist/producer Tom Misch, Californian guitarist Julian Lage and always progressive octagenarian sax master Charles Lloyd, appearing with Bill Frisell. Familiar names such as Brand New Heavies and Lianne Le Havas are always crowd pleasers plus there are soon-to-be-familiar names you may not know including harpist Nala Sinephro, Rudresh Mahanthappa’s Hero Trio and funky duo Franc Moody. For the dancers there is MF Robots, Soccer 96 and Mamas Gun with more artists still to be announced.

Charles Lloyd

The Jazz Lounge, which always hosts a selection of informal artist interviews, talks, panel discussions and film screenings returns, as does an expanded Bands & Voices area, which presents cabaret, spoken word and swing dance lessons, while nestled away in the woods the Blue In Green area will present live music and DJs late into the night.

Sarathy Korwar by Rishabah Sood

There will also be a wellness and yoga area, secret swimming, organized hill walks across the South Downs, a host of activities aimed at children, long-table-style banqueting restaurant Lazy Bird Kitchen and the Supremium VIP area, which will offer a range of premium benefits plus the opportunity to watch exclusive artist performances.

Tickets start at £63 and are available now from here.

Love Supreme Festival is held at Glynde Place from 1st – 3rd July 2022.
