This year’s Great Escape (11th-14th May) promises to be the biggest yet and sees the festival collaborating with a series of stand-out organisations locally, and over 400 new musicians globally. Brighton’s very own radio station Platform B is one part of this four-day event with an exciting line-up of emerging talent on Saturday 14th May in Jubilee Square.

Well known for broadcasting music from across the globe, Platform B has an established legacy of reimagining radio with youth-led programming. Once again the station is bringing its curatorial expertise to in-person events for festival goers to enjoy. With a dynamic team of over a hundred volunteers, Platform B champions an inclusive music scene, supporting an emerging wave of DJs, presenters, and producers across the city.

On Saturday 14th May, starting at 4.30pm, there’ll be seven acts on stage outside the Library including headliners and future soul four-piece Yakul. The line-up also features eclectic alt pop artist Naomi Banks, new wave UK rapper Namani, introspective neo-soul singer Kymara (pictured above), Norwegian retro pop artist Hedda Mae, Palestinian singer-songwriter Rasha Nahas, and globetrotting hip hop-jazz fusion ensemble Super Duty Tough Work.

The Platform B stage can be found at the epicentre of the action in the Jubilee Square festival hub, open to the public with free entry and no wristband (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). Can’t make it in person? Tune into the all-day radio broadcast live and direct from Jubilee Square (11am-11pm) on 105.5FM, DAB, and online at platformb.org.uk featuring interviews and live performances.
