More Great Escape Artists Announced

The next batch of Great Escape bands have been announced and we’re very happy to see that the TGE talent spotters agree with us that Kins are heading for good things. Elsewhere The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster continue their post-Nike ad return with an appearance, surely the most established band on the bill. Teen wonders The Strypes have a more tenuous link to Brighton in that they’re mentored by Squeeze’s Chris Difford in our lovely city, which might be why they turned up (with Elton John) at a widely reported gig at Fitzherberts.

But it’s not all Brighton bands – baggy revivalists Jagwar Ma might be our favourite new band on the bill while political singer songwriter Billy Bragg, playing one of the Dome gigs, is more relevant than any time since his 80s heyday. Hip hop fans will be pleased to see Iggy Azalea and Brooke Candy appear.
